Street performers always bring back such fond memories of wanting to join the circus when I was young. Although I was always more drawn to the side show Cony Island side show idea (mix that in with a little Edward Gory and you have perfection!).
This amazing woman showed up with her box of tricks on the corner and I nearly had heart failure from excitement. I felt like a kid again.

What to say about our trip to Israel….I truthfully have so much and so little to say all at the same time…it was so eye opening and inspiring…it was definitely a game changer for me…Its made me rethink everything I do and the way I do it..even why I do it. It made me see things in a way I could have only dreamed of. Hopefully soon I will be able to put together my thoughts entirely on the whole experience but honestly I am not one to babble on about things especially when it comes to writing on a blog…I try to let the images speak for themselves…as it should be I believe….but I think something does need to be said about our trip at some point….more thoughts to come….

One before we hit the road…er..skies.
We leave for Israel in 7 hours…..for two weeks
prepare for a mass post when we return

Happy Valentines day!
In a tiny apartment during the winter months in the middle of the city there really isn’t much to do. Other than doing a lot of catching up work from home (i.e. finishing up editing sessions from the past few months) I have been spending the past few frigid winter days obsessing over these delicate little french creations. For lack of several ingredients for the recipe I had originally wanted to use I had to use a basic recipe and make some changes. With a bit of tweaking they turned out much better than I thought they would!
So with that said, my husband has become increasingly obsessed with macarons (almost more than me!) So what better valentines day surprise for him than some strawberry tea (his favorite tea) flavored pastries.
Anyone interested in the recipe?
I have watched the campus of PTS change from season to season over the past 3 years and every time it astounds me. There is something so special and quiet about this place during the winter though…well at least for the most part. These photos are the result of probably one of the stupidest photo escapades I have ever been on. Not realizing the freezing temperatures James and I braved the negative temperature winds and low visibility to walk across the street onto campus. I was literally only out there for about 5 minutes and I started to not be able to feel my fingers. Okay no big deal, it was cold. another 10 minutes pass and I literally could not feel my toes. Okay…thats not good..but its cold.thats going to happen. By this point I am actually telling my fingers to click the shutter button because i can’t feel them enough to use muscles I actually have to force them to move and even then I am not sure if they are…only by the sound of the button do I know. (Note that my fingers were completely bare..I had fingerless gloves on)
After being out there not too much longer I had a panic attack and started shouting at james to come back and help me get back to the apartment.
We get back, he helps me pull off the gloves and I can’t bend my fingers to straighten them. They are curled up into my fist. We get upstairs and he helps me into the bathroom to run lukewarm water on my hands and feet. My feet were surprisingly in worse shape than my hands. My toes were blue and I couldn’t walk for not feeling my feet enough to actually balance.
It all ended well with finally getting circulation back but you know me….I had to ask james to bring me the camera WHILE I was sitting on the edge of the tub to see if the photos turned out.
All for the sake of capturing this beautiful place one last time in the snow before we move….
It was totally worth it ;)
